PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stencil printer capable of surely sensing a master end by preventing a sensor from being operated by mistake without necessity of a complicated regulation or complicating the printer. SOLUTION: The stencil printer 1 comprises a master support member 19 for supporting the master roll 30A having a sensing member 31 for shielding a light at a terminating end, a thermal head 21 for stencil platemaking the thermoplastic resin film 30b of the master 30 drawn from the master roll 30A, a platen roller 20 for conveying the master 30 while the master 30 is brought into contact with the head 21, and a platemaking unit 3 disposed at the space of the member 19, the head 21 and the roller 20 on the conveying route of the master 30 and having a master roll end sensing sensor 29 made of a light transmission sensor for sensing the terminating end of the roll 30A by sensing the member 31.
