PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft preventive system whereby a vehicle is unlikely to admit a steal try even in case the driver is away from the vehicle while any object(s) is left on the assistant seat, etc. SOLUTION: According to this theft preventive system 1, the vehicle adopts as its window glasses a dimming glass 3 whose photo-transmittance varies with impression of a voltage. The voltage to the dimming glass 3 is given by a dimming glass drive circuit 5. When the alarm set requisitions are met, a security ECU 7 gives an ON command to the drive circuit 5, and a battery voltage is impressed on the dimming glass 3 through the drive circuit 5 so as to lower the photo-transmittance, and thereby inside the cabin is made difficult to see. Whether the alarm set requisitions are met is judged on the basis of the signals given from a courtesy switch 11 and a door lock actuator 13.
