PURPOSE: A key matrix of a mobile communication terminal and a character inputting method using the same are provided to input all consonants by selecting consonant buttons at least more than once, and to input vowels by selecting vowels assigned according to vertical/horizontal positions of two vowel buttons at least more than once, thereby inputting Korean character by combination. CONSTITUTION: 14 buttons(23) are assigned by corresponding to 14 consonants one to one. 2 vowel inputting buttons(24) input all vowels by selecting 2 vowels and similar vowels at least more than once. Vertical/horizontal buttons(25) are disposed. Korean character is inputted by combining the inputted consonants with the vowels. The 14 basic consonants of Korean character are assigned by corresponding to keys one to one. The 2 vowels are assigned by corresponding to keys one to one. Korean character is inputted with a combination of the consonants and the vowels by selectively inputting the keys in accordance with vertical/horizontal directions of 2 vowel keys.
