PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational position detector which can detect a position without breakage even the rotating angle of a high-speed rotating shaft, and hardly detects noises due to the external magnetic field. SOLUTION: This rotational position detector of the present invention is provided with a rotating magnetic body, a first fixed magnetic body, a second fixed magnetic body, and a magnetometric sensor for detecting an amount of a magnetic flux of a magnetic circuit formed by a magnetic flux passing through a magnetic field generator. The width dimension of the magnetic field generator in the radial direction changes regularly along the rotation direction, and the opposed area between the rotating magnetic body and the magnetic field generator changes regularly accompanying the rotation of the rotating magnetic body, so that the output from the magnetometric sensor changes linearly corresponding to the rotating angle of a high-speed rotating shaft.
