PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear body construction of a vehicle capable of improving load dispersing performance by connecting a tunnel reinforcement and a package member for connecting left and right body side walls by a gusset member so as to transmit a load inputted to the tunnel reinforcement to an upper body via the gusset member and the package member, and extremely improving the torsional rigidity of a body. SOLUTION: The rear body construction of the vehicle is provided with a tunnel part 2 extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle in the central part of a floor panel 1, and the tunnel reinforcement 10 disposed along the tunnel part 2 and forming a closed cross section between it and the tunnel part 2. The tunnel reinforcement 10 and the package member 21 connecting the left and right body side walls 20 are connected by the gusset member 30.
