PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy installation, to secure accurate cover of gaps in an area of a rear seat device of an automobile, and to avoid damage to a cover device when detaching a cassette holding the cover device. SOLUTION: This cover device 1 for covering the gaps 2, 2a, 2b behind a side lining 11, a vertical partition wall 7 extending in the lateral direction of the automobile, and the rear seat device 3 comprises at least two plate-like elements 8, 9. Each the element 8, 9 is pivotally mounted to a free end part of the cassette 4 for a horizontal baggage room cover 5 disposed such that the cassette 4 extends in the lateral direction, and the elements 8, 9 are disposed in the gaps 2, 2a, 2b between a cassette 6 for the vertical partition wall 7 oriented in the lateral direction, and the rear seat device 3 and the side lining device 11.
