PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker including a microcomputer for controlling the operation of a rice cooker, capable of stopping unnecessary power supplied to an electronic circuit in the rice cooker and reducing power consumption in the standby state. SOLUTION: A heating means 3 for heating a pot 2 is driven by a driving means 11, and a predetermined signal is input to the microcomputer 10 for controlling the operation of the rice cooker by an input means 8. A commercial AC power supply 1 is converted to DC power by a power supply circuit 12, and output voltage V1 for supplying power to the microcomputer 10 and the input means 8 and the output voltage V2 for supplying power to the driving means 11 are output by the power supply circuit 12. A current carrying switching means 13 is disposed between the output voltage V2 of the power supply circuit 12 and load of the driving means 11 connected to the output voltage V2, and the current carrying switching means 13 performs switching between the current application state enabling the power supply from the output voltage V2 and the stop state of stopping the power supply.
