PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mass-producing high-purity bovine interleukin-1β(bIL-1β). SOLUTION: This method comprises culturing Brevibacillus choshinensis transformed by a plasmid integrated with a DNA fragment having a base sequence encoding the amino acid sequence of matured bovine IL-1βto produce and accumulate the bovine IL-1βin the culture and then collecting the bovine IL-1β.
