ADDING/ERASING METHOD IN MULTI-CAM DEVICE

PURPOSE: An adding/erasing method in a multi-CAM(Content Addressed Memory) device is provided to manage easily entries registered into the multi-CAM device by performing a matching function according to a control command. CONSTITUTION: An arbitrary CAM monitors an additional command by using a control port(210). The arbitrary CAM checks the presence of an index corresponding to a target entry if the arbitrary CAM detects the additional command(212). The presence of the corresponding index is determined(214). A CAM index corresponding to the index is checked if the corresponding index is registered into a memory table(216). An available CAM is selected from the plural CAMs and a corresponding entry is added to the selected CAM if the corresponding index is not registered into the memory table(218).
