PURPOSE: A coil shape correcting apparatus which is capable of correcting the defective hot rolled coil promptly without recoiling of the coil in treating a telescope defective part of hot rolled coil drawn out from a coiler is provided. CONSTITUTION: The coil shape correcting apparatus comprises a pair of coil correcting units(40) comprising a frame(10), an inner coil coiling unit(20) which is slidingly supported to the frame(10) so that the inner coil coiling unit(20) goes through the inner part of a coiled coil(100), and which coils the coil(100) as applying oscillation to the surface of the inner part of the coil(100) in the state that the inner coil coiling unit(20) is led-in to the inside of the coiled coil(100), and a correcting plate(30) installed at the outer circumferential part of the inner coil coiling unit(20) and slidingly supported to the frame(10) so that the correcting plate(30) can be contacted with or separated from the side surface of the coil(100); a fixed bar(50) for supporting both ends of the coil correcting units(40) so that the pair of coil correcting units(40) are directed oppositely to each other; and a supporting stand(60) for vertically movably supporting the fixed bar(50), wherein the inner coil coiling unit(20) has a circular cross section, one or more vibration type cylinder units(21) are installed on the circumferential part of the inner coil coiling unit(20), a motor(22) is installed on the backside of the inner coil coiling unit(20), and the motor(22) is fixed to piston rod(24) of first cylinder(23) fixed to the frame(10).
