PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such an optical pickup device that a more inexpensive semiconductor laser element may be utilized by reducing loss of optical power involved in recording. SOLUTION: This device comprises a semiconductor laser element 31 which is utilized for informational recording and which emits a beam for high optical power recording substantially, and a hologram semiconductor laser unit 42 which emits a beam used for informational reproducing and which receives the beam for reproducing reflected from an optical recording medium to detect a signal. |
