PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary, which enables a plain display, when further performing a new search from search results. SOLUTION: The electronic dictionary is provided with an input device for performing input of characters and operations; a display device, having a display screen for displaying a variety of information; a dictionary data part for storing a several different kinds of dictionary information, corresponding to flag words; a search part for searching the dictionary information of the dictionary data part; a dictionary information storage part for storing the dictionary information being the search results along with the kind information of the dictionary to be the source; a full screen display part for displaying a first dictionary information stored in the dictionary information storage part by means of a first search over the whole display screen; a window screen display part for displaying a second dictionary information stored in the dictionary information storage part, by performing a second search with regard to an arbitrary character string in the first dictionary information displayed by the full screen display part, along with a kind information of the dictionary to be the source, by arranging a window screen in a part of the display screen; and a control part for displaying a window screen displayed by the window screen display part, so as to be superimposed on the first dictionary information displayed over the whole display screen by the full-screen display part. |
