PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve speedup in conversion processing from a Kana (Japanese) character string to a character string of a mixture of Chinese character and Kana, and to facilitate selection of a conversion candidate, while maintaining the conversion accuracy of single-clause conversion, in the characters inputs using a key in which a plurality of similar but different characters are assigned. SOLUTION: When the conversion of the input kana character string to that of the mixture of Chinese character, and Kana is instructed by depressing a conversion/successor candidate key 71b after inputting Kana characters, a CPU34 executes single-clause conversion display processing. In the single-clause conversion display processing, the input Kana character string is converted to the mixture of Chinese characters and Kana, by assuming that a clause is constituted of the input Kana character string. When this is converted, a Kana character string (conversion object Kana character string), that becomes an object to be converted into Chinese character of Katakana (Japanese) among the input Kana character strings is fixed, and a content word having the same reading with the conversion object Kana character string is extracted from a content word dictionary. Next, the propriety of connection of the extracted content word with a remaining character string other than the conversion object Kana character string is decided, and only the content word clearing the decision is determined as the conversion candidate that is browsable and selectable. |
