PURPOSE: A method for controlling speed-change patterns of traveling at a vehicle with an automatic transmission is provided to solve the output reduction of high temperature and fuel defective in traveling in a grade and a high land. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle having an automatic transmission with a speed change control device outputting speed change control signals for controlling a speed range in traveling to a desired speed range comprises steps of deciding the torque reduction of an engine after the speed change control device initializes all parameters and computes gradient conditions by being input by information for engine torque and engine torque reduction from an engine control device(S100,S110,S120,S130), and outputting speed change control signals after engine torque reduction generates and a desired speed range is decided according to gradient conditions(S170,S190).
