PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow more efficient memory assignment between payload portion and redundancy portion by changing dynamically available redundancies, in response to change in error rate through the use of error correction code (ECC) for variable length. SOLUTION: A system and a method assigning dynamically a data storage (200) between a payload (202) and a redundancy (204) is described. In response to a change of conditions, dynamic reassignment is performed to maximize the data integrity and minimize concurrently overhead. In the implementation of (ECC) for dynamically variable length, the assignment between the payload and redundancy including the (ECC) is changed dynamically, in response to change in basic error rate of a storage medium. |
