PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lead terminal used for a capacitor, which can reduce an internal resistance of the capacitor and increase capacitance of the capacitor. SOLUTION: When a flat portion 34 is formed, by pressing a round bar portion 14 with an upper mold 30 and a lower mold 32, an edge position (contact position to the round bar 14) on the side of a weld portion 16 of the lower mold 32 being located byΔL closer to the weld portion 16 than an edge position (contact position to the round bar 14), on the weld portion 16 of the upper mold. Thereby, the lead terminal used for the capacitor in which a forming position of the flat portion 34 is shifted from a center position of the round bar portion 14 can be manufactured. A capacitor element, using two of the lead terminal used for a capacitor, can reduce the internal resistance of capacitor and increase the capacitance of capacitor.
