PURPOSE: An identity authentication service system and a method for the same are provided to authenticate a user, accessing a web site over the Internet, by using a certificate authorized by a CA(Certificate Authority) so that it can basically blocking minors from accessing adult sites. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a user computer(20), an RA(Registration Authority) server(30), a CA(Certificate Authority) server(40), and a certification service server(50). The user computer(20) downloads an authorized certificate from the RA server(30), and stores the authorized certificate at a memory. The RA server(30) receives a certificate application form, including personal data of a user, from the user computer(20), transmits a certificate issue request to the CA server(40), and enables the user computer(20) to download the certificate from the CA server(40). The CA server(40) receives the user data, issues the certificate if it receives the certificate issue request from the RA server, notifies the RA server of the issue of the certificate, and transmits a certificate registration number to the user computer(20). The certification service server(50) transmits an electronic signature message request program to the user computer(20) if the user computer accesses a web site requiring an identity authentication, authentications the signature which is input via the electronic signature message request program from the user computer(20), and enables the user to log in the web site according to the signature authentication result.
