PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a drive unit for a photoreceptor drum in which color slippage is not caused even when there is a certain amount of eccentricity of the rotary shaft of the photoreceptor drum and in which banding does not occur easily even when no heavy flywheel is provided. SOLUTION: In a driving mechanism which transmits driving force from a driving motor 105 to a photoreceptor drum 110 through a first intermediate shaft A for acceleration driving and a second intermediate shaft B for deceleration, a gear 106 at the driving motor side engages with both of a first gear 107A and a fourth gear 107B, and a gear 109 at the photoreceptor drum side engages with both of a second gear 108A and a third gear 108B. On the basis of information of an encoder 101, the driving motor 105 controls the rotational speed of the photoreceptor drum 110 to a constant value. Furthermore, each gear is provided with a fixation adjustment function which can be adjusted in the rotating direction of the gears when each intermediate shaft and each gear are fixed. |
