PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To warn a driver during driving in advance before he/she passes through a point at which he/she is likely to break a speed limit, taking precautions against a possible speeding of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The speed warning device registers an exceeded-speed point (in longitude and latitude) on a travelling route at which a speed limit to be observed has been broken by each driver. When a driver travels along the same road next time or later, the device warns the driver in advance before he/she comes to a predetermined distance before the registered exceeded-speed point, making the driver drive the vehicle without breaking a speed limit. When a driver travels along the same road next time or later, the device counts the number of times of observance, which are the times each driver observed the speed limit to be observed at the exceeded-speed point (in longitude and latitude) in the past according to instructions of warning, and cancels the registration of the exceeded-speed point, when the number of times of observance reaches a predetermined value. |
