PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece holder which can improve working efficiency and eliminate danger for an operator, and also can reduce dispersion of grinding accuracy. SOLUTION: The holder 100 has an annular magnet chuck 111 connected to a front end of a hollow spindle 106, twelve nose pieces 112 arranged on the front surface of the magnet chuck 111 along the peripheral direction of the magnet chuck 111 for attracting a side face of a workpiece 611, and feed screws 114 which are contained in the inside of the magnet chuck 111, and turn about respective radial straight lines from the rotary axis of the hollow spindle 106. Each of the feed screw 114 engages with a nut 116 connected to the nose piece 112. Further, a bevel gear 122 fixed to the front end of a shaft 119 penetrating the hollow portion of the hollow spindle 106 engages with a bevel gear 123 fixed to the end (at the rotary axis side of the hollow spindle 106) of each of the feed screws 114 at a right angle.
