PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operating cost by greatly improving dephosphorization efficiency for molten pig iron by using a CaO-based flux in a converter. SOLUTION: The dephosphorization method for molten pig iron is characterized by adjusting a slag composition generating after adding a CaO source and a Na2 O source and top-blowing oxygen and dephosphorizing the molten pig iron in a convertor, so as to satisfy the conditions of (%CaO/%SiO2 )=1.2-3.0, Na2 O=1-6%, and T.Fe-(iron oxide)=3-25%.
