<p>The invention concerns a flame resistant methacrylic polymer material comprising (a) 85 to 92 % of a (co)polymer material consisting of methyl methacrylate homopolymer or copolymer containing in majority units derived from methyl methacrylate monomer; (b) a halogenated polyphosphonate compound and (c) a phosphoric acid halogenated neutral ester compound, provided that compounds (b) and (c) are compatible with the methyl methacrylate monomer and/or the methacrylic (co)polymer and the amounts, in wt. %, x for compound (b) and y for compound (c) are such that the sum x + y represents 6 to 15 wt. % of the total weight of components (a), (b) and (c) and that x and y are not less than 3 %, x being preferably not less than y. The invention is useful for making cast or extruded plates and for a articles shaped by injection moulding, for use in the field of electricity.</p> |
