摘要 Device comprises a motor-driven manipulator arm (3) to which the instrument (1) is attached. Additionally the device has a light source (5) and a light detector (6). The latter is able to detect reflected light of at least one spectral wavelength. An analysis unit analyses the reflected light and compares it with reference data in order to make conclusions about tissue types. A control unit controls the instrument based on the preset decision criteria and the detected tissue types. The detected light is normally fluorescent radiation. An Independent claim is included for a method of controlled navigation of a surgical instrument.
