<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote safety and cost reduction, and provide a stable space by generating ozone-free minus ions in an interior space. SOLUTION: An air conditioner comprises an air inlet 25 for suctioning atmospheric air into a body, an air outlet 33 for emitting the suctioned air to the atmosphere, and a minus ion generating part 49 consisting of a photoelectron emitter 47 and an irradiation source 48 and for irradiating ultraviolet rays from the irradiation source 48 to the photoelectron emitter 47 to generate photoelectrons. Near the air outlet part 33, a minus ion outlet 41 is defined to emit the photoelectrons from inside the body to the atmosphere. The irradiation of ultraviolet rays from the irradiation source 48 to the photoelectron emitter 47 can generate minus ions in an air current to diffuse the minus ions throughout a room.</p> |
