PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safen usage by avoiding a disadvantage such as flame extinction even upon a sudden throttling operation. SOLUTION: This heating power control device 40 comprises a heating power control lever 6a, a needle valve 41 disposed in a gas passage 15 and vertically movable to control a gas flow rate depending on the position thereof, and a coil spring 43 for urging the needle valve 41 in a throttling direction (downward in the figure). A pin 50 perpendicularly set on the side of a head portion of the needle valve 41 is loosely passed through a vertical guide hole 52 in a guide plate 51 disposed at a base end of the heating power control lever 6a. A fixed guide plate formed integrally with a mounting plate 46 secured to a gas passage body 12 is disposed outside the guide plate 52. The fixed guide plate is perforated with a substantially triangle-shaped triangular guide hole 48, through which the pin 50 on the needle valve 41 is also loosely passed.
