PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for testing strength of ceramic tube by which a correct strength-measured result can be obtained from a ceramic tube, by preventing the occurrence of local breakage in the vicinity of the opening of the ceramic tube and reducing the number of strength unmeasurable portions as much as possible. SOLUTION: At the time of measuring the fracture strength of the ceramic tube by imparting an internal pressure to the ceramic tube by supplying a pressure fluid into a flexible tube inserted into the ceramic tube, a cylindrical skirt ring is inserted into the ceramic tube to the distance of L0 =2×(r×t)<1/2> (wherein, (r) and (t) respectively denote the inside diameter and wall thickness of the opening of the ceramic tube) from the end face of the opening between the inner periphery of the opening of the ceramic tube and the outer periphery of the flexible tube. Then the fracture strength of the ceramic tube is measured by supplying the pressure fluid into the flexible tube.
