PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize space saving and reduce weight in a wire rope winch type water gate opening/closing device. SOLUTION: In the wire rope winch type water gate opening/closing device, a drum gear and a plurality of pinions to be meshed with the drum gear are arranged to a gear case, a rotary shaft of the drum gear is connected to a winding drum, and a plurality of hydraulic motors with brakes are mounted to the gear case and direct-coupled to each pinion. And also, the gear case is made as a double-shaft type and the rotary shaft of the drum gear is connected to the two winding drums arranged apart at the both sides of the gear case.
