The invention relates to an agent having a pH value of less than or equal to 8, to a laundry conditioning agent, to a conditioning substrate and to a detergent, cleanser and dish washing detergent that contains polymerizable betaine esters and/or betaine ester polymers that can be produced therefrom. The invention also relates to the use of a conditioning agent or of a conditioning substrate in a textile conditioning method.
