AN INK CARTRIDGE FOR A PRINTER

The ink cartridge comprises a cartridge body with an ink chamber. On one side of the cartridge body is provided an ink supply port, and an air channel is positioned on the opposite side. The ink chamber is composed of a main chamber and a communicating sub−chamber, an ink−out inspection prism being provided close to the communicating portion. A check valve through which the sub−chamber is communicated with the ink supply port is provided sideways between the side walls adjacent to the ink supply port. In this invention, the nominal volume of each ink cartridge is increased, and there is no such problem that a certain amount of ink continues to be fed after the ink−out indicative signal being sent out in case of no porous material. Further, the technical solution of the sideways−provided check valve improves the manufacturability and the ink supply stability.
