System for generation and use of a mobile digital card in a manner analogous to use of a physical card, such as a credit card. Accordingly a digital representation of a physical customer card is stored together with corresponding data records. The digital representation can be accessed in an issuer computer system via a communications network. At the same time a further digital representation in a mobile terminal of a customer can be accessed. Combination of the two digital representations can be used to complete a commercial transaction. The invention also relates to a corresponding method and computer program product.
