Disclosed is an insulating web comprising a substrate of a textile fabric material connected with a layer of a polymer foam by stitching or knitting through the polymer foam, wherein the polymer foam is made from a material capable of acting as a hot-melt adhesive and/or an additional adhesive is provided on at least one side of the composite formed of the substrate and the polymer foam; and a method of manufacturing such an insulating web, comprising the steps of providing a sheet-like polymer foam material, providing a textile fabric substrate, adhering them to each other by knitting or stitching through the polymer foam. Furthermore, the invention concerns the use of the insulating web as a vibration dampening product for at least partially insulating one or more components from mechanical and/or sound vibrations, as an adhesive tape in the production of automotives or as an adhesive tape in medical and health care applications.
|
