PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool and a material for a culture medium and the culture medium having good compatibility with a test liquid and capable of carrying out dissolving treatment with hot water after culturing a microorganism. SOLUTION: The tool and material for the culture medium comprise a nonwoven fabric layer composed of a thermoplastic polyvinyl alcohol and a water-soluble high polymer layer.
