The front end structure includes an integral member (4) having a base (5) which is fastened to a longitudinal member (2) by support pillars (6,7). The base has greater stiffness in the vehicle longitudinal direction than the longitudinal member which is deformable in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The pillars are pivoted about the pivot axes when the longitudinal member is deformed. The pivot axes extend transversely with respect to the vehicle longitudinal direction. The integral member is configured to mount a drive unit of the vehicle.
