PURPOSE: An audio up-sampling method in a mobile communication terminal for providing a multimedia service is provided to efficiently remove high band frequencies, which have bad influence upon audio sound and occur during audio up-sampling, with only low computing power. CONSTITUTION: An up-sampling unit decides whether up-sampling of audio data is necessary by using header information of the received audio data(100). If not, the up-sampling unit outputs the audio data to an audio output unit(102) and processes them. If necessary, the up-sampling unit sets a memory area in accordance with the number of samples required for the up-sampling(104). The up-sampling unit stores values of original samples in a memory area that corresponds to the original samples of the audio data, and stores an initialization value "0(zero)" for additional samples respectively added between the original samples(106). The up-sampling unit calculates a slope value between the additional samples and successive original samples(108). The up-sampling unit decides whether the slope value is a positive number or a negative number(110). The up-sampling unit reflects the slope value and a correction value, calculated by a preset constant, to an average of the values of the original samples arranged in the sequence of the additional samples thereby calculating the values of the additional samples, and substitutes the additional sample values with the initialization value(112,114).
