摘要 It is intended to provide a porous calcium phosphate article with a high strength which has pores of 70 mum or above preferably large pores of 100 mum or above penetrating the porous article, a structure wherein these pores are arranged to form a three-dimensional network and a sufficient porosity for allowing the invasion and penetration of blood vessels or the permeation of cells, the chemical composition of which can be freely changed to give a Ca/P molar ratio of from 0.75 to 2.1, to which elements important in accelerating osteogenesis or exhibiting absorbability can be added and the phase composition of which can be relatively easily changed too. Namely, a porous article of sintered calcium phosphate comprising calcium phosphate as the main component which has artificially formed penetrating pores of from 70 mum to 4 mm in diameter, a porosity of from 20% to 80% and a Ca/P molar ratio of from 0.75 to 2.1.
