<p>It is intended to provide a method of separating glycolipids (in particular, gangliosides) whereby a large number of samples can be conveniently and economically treated and many types of glycolipids can be collected at a high yield. Namely, a method of separating glycolipids which comprises: (a) bringing a sample solution, which is obtained by extracting a biological sample with a mixture of a nonpolar solvent and a polar solvent and then hydrolyzing the extract, into contact with a solution having a lower osmotic pressure than the sample solution via a semipermeable membrane; (b) and continuing the contact until the sample solution is divided into two or three layers and removing the intermediate and/or lower layers.</p> |
