A cutoff valve having a hard−to−deteriorate sealing member,wherein a lifting valve element is installed in a valve chamber formed between a primary side and a secondary side,a through−hole formed in the bottom surface of the valve chamber is closed when the valve element is lowered and opened when the valve element is raised,and the sealing member fitted closely to the lower surface of the valve element when the valve element is lowered is disposed on the bottom surface of the valve chamber at a position surrounding the through−hole,whereby,since a temperature difference between the high and low temperatures of the sealing member is small,deterioration due to thermal fatigue is hard to advance.
