A cleaning thing of chord−like structure, wherein threads having extremely thin fibers of 1.1 decitex or finer in unifilar size contained at least in a part thereof are formed in a chord shape so that the end faces of the threads are not exposed to the peripheral surface part thereof, characterized in that the overall surface area of the thing per cubic meter is set to 150,000 to 2,500,000 m<sp>2</sp>, and an apparent density is set to 100,000 to 700,000 g/m<sp>3</sp>, whereby, even if an object portion has any fine irregularities and clearances, the excellent cleaning thing can thoroughly clean the irregular parts and the inside of the clearances.
