Washing machine (1) has a casing (3) with a suspended soapy water container (SWC) (2) made to vibrate. A measuring device (MD) (7) uses a sensor (7a) to detect the level of the SWC directly or indirectly. While the washing machine is working, a positioning device brings the SWC to a preset level unaffected by its load. Reservoir (6.1) for liquid fastens on the SWC. Devices use an output signal from the MD to let liquid in/out of the reservoir. An Independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting the level of a soapy water container in a washing machine.
