The riser ducts of each flue are arranged in pairs, the transfer slots of the ducts of a pair being in opposite walls, or side-by-side in the same wall of the flue, and the slots of the one duct of a pair vary in a different way from the slots of another duct of a pair. By controlling the proportions in which the gas or air is fed to the different ducts of each pair, the heat distribution in the flue is controlled.</p> |
