CORNCOB SEPARATING APPARATUS

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: corncob separating apparatus has two grooved rolls mounted for rotation in opposite directions and corncob separating plates arranged above rolls. Vertical detachable bars are arranged at inner side of corncob separating plate in its mid portion. Bars are made sharpened and extend beyond surface of corncob separating plates to height smaller than thickness of corncob husk at base thereof. Feeding chains are disposed above corncob separating plates. During operation of apparatus, corn stalks are gripped with rolls. Corncobs abut against sharpened plates and are torn off during further advancement of stalks. Sharpened plates are adapted for effectuating partial removal of corncobs from husk due to presence of cuts in leaves on lower part of corncobs. EFFECT: increased efficiency in separating corncobs from stalks, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 dwg
