PURPOSE: A node token generating method by PNNI(Private Network Node Interface) nodes in a PNNI network is provided to allow network manager to easily discern PNNI nodes through a node token by generating and storing corresponding node tokens of PNNI nodes besides IDs of PNNI nodes of PNNI network. CONSTITUTION: A processor receives HELLO packets and HPFSP packets provided at certain intervals from a neighboring PNNI nodes(S1) and judges whether nodes IDs of the PNNI nodes are identical to PNNI node IDS stored in database(S2). If the PNNI node IDs of the packets and the PNNI node IDs in the database are identical to each other, the processor stores routing information of the packets in the database by PNNI nodes(S3). If the PNNI node IDs of the packets and the PNNI node IDs in the database are not identical to each other, it is regarded that new PNNI nodes IDs are provided through the packets and the new PNNI nodes are registered(S4). If there is no database corresponding to the PNNI node IDs of the packets, the processor generates a PNNI node token corresponding to the pertinent PNNI node ID(S5), makes the new PNNI node IDs and its routing information to correspond to the generated PNNI node token and stores it in the database(S6). If there is no new PNNI node ID, the processor judges whether there is a PNNI node ID that is recorded in the database but not provided through a packet(S7). If a PNNI node has become extinct, the processor deletes a pertinent PNNI node ID, the routing information and the PNNI node token stored in the database to eliminate the information on the pertinent PNNI node from the database(S8).
