PURPOSE: An indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to maximize efficiency of heat exchange of a heat exchanger while miniaturizing the air conditioner and improving appearance of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An indoor unit includes a main chassis(30); suction grills(32',35',38') formed on an upper front part, an upper rear part, and a front side of the main chassis, respectively, to introduce air in a space to be air-conditioned; a covering panel(40) selectively covering the suction grill formed on the front side of the main chassis; a heat exchanger(50) comprising a first heat exchange part(51) installed almost parallel to a rear side of the suction grill formed on the front side of the main chassis, and a second heat exchange part(52) installed almost parallel to rear sides of the suction grills formed on the upper front part and the upper rear part of the main chassis to make air introduced through the suction grills and working fluid of a heat exchanging cycle exchange heat with each other; a fan assembly(60) installed on a rear side of the heat exchanger for introduction and discharge of air; and a discharge grill(70) discharging air passing the heat exchanger into the space to be air-conditioned. |
