发明名称 POWER SAVING METHOD FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL
摘要 PURPOSE: A power saving method for a mobile communication terminal is provided to minimize a battery power consumption of a terminal by setting a priority reception number required to be answered even at a low power state, switching to a power saving mode and controlling power applied to an LCD and a backlight according to a signal generation of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs a caller ID to be received even at a low power state executed in a power saving mode and sets it as a PN(Priority Number)(S1). A battery capacity measuring module measures a battery capacity(S2) and a controller calculates an estimate usage time(S3). The controller discriminates whether the estimate usage time goes down to below a pre-set limit usage time(S4). If the estimate usage time is above the limit usage time, a normal mode operation state is maintained(S5). If the estimate usage time goes down to below the pre-set limit usage time, it is switched to a power saving mode operation and the power supply unit cuts off power applied to an LCD and a backlight of the mobile terminal(S6). The controller discriminates whether a signal is detected as the terminal is manipulated by the user according to the switched power saving mode(S7). If the terminal is manipulated, the power supply units turns on power applied to the LCD(S8). If, however, there is no terminal manipulation, the controller discriminates whether a call has been terminated through a signal detection by a radio frequency unit(S9). If a call signal has been terminated to the radio frequency unit and a signal is detected, a CID(Caller ID) is detected from the call signal, while if no call signal is terminated, it is terminated(S10). The controller discriminates whether the CID detected according to the power saving mode is identical to the pre-set PN(S11). If the CID is identical to the PN, a termination tone is outputted, while if the CID is not identical to the PN, it is terminated(S12).
