PURPOSE: To make a display device with a built-in D-A converter correspond to multi-digitization by suppressing a circuit scale. CONSTITUTION: A D-A converter for converting a digital video signal into an analog video signal is composed of a 1st D-A converter arranged in the peripheral part of a plurality of pixels and a 2nd S-A converter arranged in each pixel, so that the 1st D-A converter processes the higher 4 bits of the 6-bit digital video signal by D-A conversion, and also the 2nd D-A converter processes the remaining lower 2 bits by D-A conversion. Thus, multiple gradation display can be realized by increasing the number of bits of the D-A converters while suppressing an increase in a frame area of a display panel by simplifying the constitution of the peripheral circuits of the pixels.
