PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive braille display device by reducing the number of braille elements for controlling a braille pin also in the case of mounting a plurality of braille modules to a braille display. SOLUTION: When current switch elements SW2, SW3 (X2 and Y1) are connected, a shape memory alloy spring 6 is deformed by a normal current I1 flowing through a diode D1 to drive a braille actuator 5, and unnecessary current I2 (current flowing through SW2, a diode D3, the braille actuator 5, a diode D4, a diode D2, a shape memory alloy spring 7 and SW3 as a route) generated by connection of the current switch SW2 is prevented by the diode D3 connected in an opposite direction so as to avoid driving the other shape memory alloy spring 7, etc.
