PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely limit a color material total amount. SOLUTION: A total amount restriction circuit 32 is provided to a pre-stage of a gradation correction LUT circuit 34, a total amount restriction condition circuit 36 is provided in a post-stage of the gradation correction LUT circuit 34, and the total amount restriction condition circuit 36 discriminates whether or not the color material total amount within a prescribed total amount restriction value on the basis of the density of each color whose gradation is corrected by the gradation correction LUT circuit 34. When the color material total amount based on the density of each color after the gradation correction is a total amount restriction value or over, the total amount restriction circuit 32 uniformly increases/decreases the density of each color component of the YMC and the K before gradation correction until the color material total amount is within the prescribed total amount restriction value and adjusting the density of each color component without changing the colors themselves can restrict the color material total amount within the prescribed total amount restriction value. |
