PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass panel for a cathode-ray tube which can sufficiently alleviate vacuum stress in addition to securing of suitable explosion-proof characteristics and enable to respond to the needs of thinning and weight-saving of the panel. SOLUTION: With the glass panel provided with a face part 3, a skirt part 6 having each corner part 7 and each side part 8 continuing into a peripheral edge part of the face part 3, a seal edge face 5 formed at an opening end of the skirt part 6, and mold-matching lines 9 formed at outer periphery faces of the skirt part 6, the mold-matching lines 9 formed at least at a pair of opposing side parts 8 in the skirt part 6 are made inclined toward the side of the seal edge face 5 at a center region in the length direction of the side parts.
