PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge adaptor for a small diameter disk, the cartridge adaptor that secures a further recordable region in a small diameter disk and that enables a large and a small diameter disk to be recorded and reproduced with a similar device. SOLUTION: In the cartridge adaptor 1 for storing a small diameter disk, there is provided an opening 1a for irradiating the disk with a light beam from an optical pickup device. The cartridge adaptor 1 is equipped with a rotary base 3 for rotatably supporting the disk, a driving wheel 2 engaging with a spindle motor, and a means for transmitting a motive power from the driving wheel 2 to the rotary base 3.
