PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such a high-brightness discharge lamp as is able to aim at even illuminance on an irradiated surface such as exposed surface as well as is able to obtain illuminance distribution of almost circular or square. SOLUTION: Discharge space part 22 between paired discharge electrode parts 23L, 23R is formed in the shape of a bent tube, and the interval between paired electrodes 23L, 23R is made narrower than that of the discharge space part 22, to constitute a high-brightness discharge lamp consisting of a tube body of almost anΩshape or a square shape.
